About Us

Pashchimbanga Ayurved Chikitsak Samity is a non-profitable non-government organization, established on 1982 and registered under the West Bengal Society Registration Act on 1988. The organization is engaged with varieties of social, cultural, scientific and academic activities among common people towards the betterment of ancient Indian medical system Ayurveda. The organization is presently consisting of more than 300 members representing from Ayurvedic Teachers, Medical Officers, Practitioners, PG Students and other well wishers. Many activities like arrangement of Ayurvedic health awareness, check up and treatment camps in different parts of the state with follow up with free distribution of Ayurvedic medicines, conducting monthly CME both in physical and virtual manner on various applied and basic topics of Ayurveda and relevant medical systems with reputed speakers of home and abroad, publication of journal in the name of AYURESHANA, etc.

All these activities are performed in association with another organization of similar frame of mind in the name of Government Ayurvedic Doctors Association, comprising with members working as faculties and Medical Officers under the Department of Health and FW, Government of West Bengal. The most remarkable event that exist as feather in the hat of Pashchimbanga Ayurved Chikitsa Samity was organization of a national seminar on “Interior of Molecules of Ayurvedic Rasouosadhis (Metals and Mineral Drugs” during December 2006. More than 700 delegates from 13 states of country attended the programme and shared their valuable opinions. The proceedings of the seminar was published by the Central Council of Research on Ayurveda and Siddha, Government of India on 2007. The upcoming event that the organization is going to explore is national seminar entitled, “Lifestyle Disorders and Ayurveda (ALIFE 2023)” during 26-27 November 2023.

With a positive impact on the community, Paschimbanga Ayurved Chikitsak Samity has cultivated a strong membership base of over 300 individuals, including Ayurvedic teachers, medical officers, practitioners, postgraduate students, and well-wishers. Their commendable efforts encompass health awareness camps, checkups, and treatments held in different parts of the state, effectively reaching and benefiting the local population.
